Welcome to my home page. My name is Scott Starnes and I am a "Genealogy Detective." I offer a wide variety of services for those individuals who want to know more about their family history. I am willing to take on large or small projects.
My clients have included those who had no knowledge of their ancestors other than who their parents or grandparents were. I’ve also worked with clients who have done a considerable amount of research on their own but have hit a “brick wall” and want a professional to help them break the wall down or who has access to local records. I’ve also been asked by clients to verify research which had been done for them in the past, but which had not been well documented.
Tracing ancestry is similar to solving a mystery. I will examine dozens of public and private records to gather facts and clues about your family’s past. Then the pieces are fit together to construct a well-documented family tree.
Each completed research project consists of a detailed report explaining how research was conducted, a list of records searched, photocopies and extracts of the records in which your ancestors are recorded, including census records, military service files, estate records, old deeds, birth, marriage, and death certificates, and many other types of records. Carefully computerized lineages charts and family group records showing your line of descent come with each project.
